Canberra Quilters had a lovely weekend displaying their members work at the annual Quilt Show. The show was officially opened by the Governor General, Her Excellency Sam Mostyn, giving a wonderful speech expressing her admiration of the work involved in making such beautiful quilts and celebrating the history of Fifty Years of Quilting in Canberra.
My quilt ‘Birds of a Feather’ was awarded Bernina Best of Show.
I also was fortunate that my second entry ‘Celebrate Thirty’ was awarded 1st in its category.
The special challenge this year was Gold. My entry ‘Fifty Golden Years’ depicts various activities Canberra Quilters offers to its members.
